Scientists at Germany's Potsdam Institute for Climate Research used physics, statistical analysis and computer simulations to link extreme rainfall and heat waves to global warming. The link between warming and storms was less clear.

"It is very likely that several of the unprecedented extremes of the past decade would not have occurred without anthropogenic global warming," said the study.

The past decade was probably the warmest globally for at least a millennium. Last year was the eleventh hottest on record, the World Meteorological Organisation said on Friday .

Extreme weather events were devastating in their impacts and affected nearly all regions of the globe.

They included severe floods and record hot summers in Europe; a record number of tropical storms and hurricanes in the Atlantic in 2005; the hottest Russian summer since 1500 in 2010 and the worst flooding in Pakistan's history.

Last year alone, the United States suffered 14 weather events which caused losses of over $1 billion each. The high amount of extremes is not normal, the study said.

6,000 weather records broken in March

For some types of extreme weather, there are physical reasons why they would increase in a warming climate. For example, if average temperature rises, then so will the number of heat records if all else remains equal, the study said.

Natural weather patterns like El Nino or La Nina can also cause highs in global temperature or increased precipitation which leads to floods.

"Single weather extremes are often related to regional processes, like a blocking high pressure system or natural phenomena like El Nino," said Stefan Rahmstorf, co-author of the study and chair of the institute's earth system analysis department.

"These are complex processes that we are investigating further. But now these processes unfold against the background of climatic warming. That can turn an extreme event into a record-breaking event."

Recent years have seen an exceptionally large number of record-breaking and destructive heatwaves in many parts of the world and research suggests that many or even most of these would not have happened without global warming.

Currently, nearly twice as many record hot days as record cold days are being observed both in the United States and Australia, the length of summer heatwaves in western Europe has almost doubled and the frequency of hot days has almost tripled over the period from 1880 to 2005.

Extremely hot summers are now observed in about 10 percent of the global land area, compared with only about 0.1-0.2 percent for the period 1951 to 1980, the study said.

The link between storms and hurricanes and global warming is less conclusive but at least some of recent rainfall extremes can be attributed to human influences on the climate, it added.

HONG KONG (Reuters) - Thousands of protestors could take to the streets of Hong Kong on Sunday to demonstrate against the scandal-ridden selection of the city's next chief executive, angry they had no say in the vote and at Beijing's stifling of full democracy for the territory it regained from Britain in 1997.

"You'll get another mass demonstration," a senior civil servant with a key policy portfolio told Reuters on condition of anonymity. More than 30 civic, student and pro-democracy groups are planning to demonstrate.

Voting for a successor to the bow tie-wearing chief executive, Donald Tsang, will be a 1,200-member election committee stacked with tycoons, professionals and pro-Beijing loyalists, many of whom were appointed uncontested to the committee, such as Li Ka-shing, the wealthiest man in Asia.

The two businessmen competing for the job, Henry Tang and Leung Chun-ying, are elite political insiders with longstanding ties to Beijing. Both, however, have been hit by a near daily onslaught of controversy and mud-slinging that has impacted their integrity and popularity ratings.

The scandals have also tarnished the global financial hub's reputation for fairness, good governance and stability.

"I'd be very surprised if he (Tang) lasts very long. In Beijing's eyes, he was supposed to represent stability. That doesn't apply anymore," said the senior civil servant.

Tang, beset by an illegal construction furor, rumors of an illegitimate child and marital infidelities, trails Leung in opinion polls while Leung faces a legislative investigation for a conflict-of-interest scandal.

Hong Kong's current chief executive and his predecessor, Tung Chee-hwa, have had tumultuous tenures. Tsang, who retires in June, was recently criticized for socializing with tycoons on private jets and accepting advantages. Tung, a wooden, unpopular leader, faced street protests by half a million people in 2003 that eventually led him to quit office mid-term. "It's a crazy soap opera," said Samuel Shiu, an I.T. professional as he ate steamed dim sum in a restaurant with his family. "Hong Kong people know what kind of leader they want, but we simply don't have a say."

"SORRY SPECTACLE"

The election is often dubbed a "small circle" poll and is the fourth since 1997 when Britain handed its last colony back to China and Tung, a shipping executive, was chosen as its first chief executive. He was followed by incumbent Tsang.

"This sorry spectacle that we see unfolding before our eyes every single day just makes us the laughing stock," said Anson Chan, Hong Kong's former civil service chief.

Dubbed the city's "conscience," Chan retired early in 2001, given what analysts said was her refusal to undermine Hong Kong's interests under her boss, former chief executive Tung, who is now a senior Chinese official and advisor. "It is a crisis of governance. It is, I think, symptomatic of both overt and covert chipping away at our values, at Hong Kong's high degree of autonomy, of Hong Kong people ruling Hong Kong," said Chan, the first woman and first Chinese to hold the position of Hong Kong's civil service chief.

When Hong Kong returned to Chinese rule on a rain-soaked night in 1997, people feared China's Communist leaders would trample on the city's freedom, rule of law and capitalist zeal that made it a free market beacon of economic success.

As part of the political bargain to protect Hong Kong's free-wheeling spirit after 1997, Beijing pledged to allow a high degree of autonomy and to keep things unchanged for 50 years. After intense pressure from pro-democracy forces in Hong Kong, China in 2007 grudgingly laid out a timetable to allow full democracy in 2017, but many expect Beijing to rig electoral rules to influence the outcome.

China's promises however, have not stopped it from stepping into Hong Kong's affairs.

China's invisible hand in Hong Kong has extended into media, legal and education spheres through a "United Front" strategy of co-opting the city's elite. The city has barred Chinese dissidents and critics from entering the territory, while a visit by Chinese vice-premier Li Keqiang last year saw a heavy security clampdown that sparked claims of civil rights violations.

Other social strains have surfaced over Hong Kong's integration with China, including pregnant mainland mothers crowding out local maternity wards so their children born in Hong Kong will receive residency rights.

Last Friday, a televised election debate crackled with fresh controversy when Tang accused Leung of proposing a crackdown on the mass protest in 2003 using riot police and tear gas, a move derided by many Hong Kongers who cherish the city's freedoms. "I absolutely didn't say this," Leung replied. "You are deceiving people. Don't lie," shot back an animated Tang, jabbing his finger at Leung repeatedly.

Paul Ho, a lifeguard living in a 200-square foot public flat crammed with books, feels life has not improved since China regained control of Hong Kong.

"The most important task right now is to pull the blinds up, to let people see how much of their interests are being controlled by others," he said. "If you can avoid being a slave, don't be a slave."

With tensions rising, some say Hong Kong now needs a strong, committed leader to stand up for the city to prevent the further erosion of values that have made it unique.

A deeply pragmatic and entrepreneurial people, Hong Kongers are very active in protecting their freedoms if they perceive they are being pushed into a corner.

Academics like Michael DeGolyer, a long-term resident and head of the Hong Kong Transition Project, describes this as a culture of "reactive surliness" to fill the democracy vacuum.

"We see people who are constantly alert to a reason to get angry because they know that no other emotion will have an effect. If they're angry enough and enough people are angry enough, then change will happen. So if you want change, get mad and get vocal."

DEMOCRACY NOT A THREAT

Beijing has avoided taking a clear position on who it may back in the election, though China's Premier Wen Jiabao recently said the next leader must "enjoy the support of the vast majority of Hong Kong people."

Yet many of Hong Kong's business tycoons, whose wealth and connections have long given them great sway over the city's affairs, continue to back Henry Tang, who has the lowest popularity ratings of around 20 percent.

While the tycoons are motivated by self-interest, some analysts think they play a sometimes unappreciated role in defending Hong Kong's equality, rule of law and freedoms against pressure from Beijing. "Without some semblance of political and economic autonomy, they're just as vulnerable as billionaires in China," said Victor Shih, a Hong Kong-born expert in Chinese politics at Northwestern University in the United States. Shih was referring to the plight of Chinese billionaires like Wu Ying, once a lauded Chinese business leader, who is now on death row on charges of defrauding investors.

With many election committee members now lacking clear guidance from Beijing, there's talk some may cast blank ballots, in the hope of forcing a re-election in May with fresh and untainted candidates that enjoy greater public support. Such a revolt would provide the Hong King leadership election with perhaps the biggest taste of democracy yet and add to the scandal-laden drama already playing out.

"Democracy isn't a threat," said Britain's last governor of Hong Kong, Chris Patten in a luxury hotel close to where he bade farewell to the British territory he governed until June 30, 1997. "Is accountability going to be something which is enhanced everywhere in the future, including mainland China? If you believe Premier Wen Jiabao, yes, it certainly is."

Patten added Hong Kong's "hardware and software of pluralism" - its rights and freedoms - must be preserved if the city is to keep its edge. "It's very important that people continue to watch zealously," a silver-haired Patten told Reuters, "to make sure the principles that underpin it are safeguarded."

Going Steady:

Whenever I think of the term ?Going Steady?, I am instantly transported back to watching episodes of Happy Days. ?Back when couples went ?steady? the term meant there was a level of commitment between two people ? they would not date other people, they were a ?couple?. ?The term indicates to others that one has an exclusive relationship with another person where there were expectations that each side is expected to honor (regular communication, not dating other people, availability for dates, etc.).

While not a lifelong commitment, ?Going Steady? occurs after a considerable amount of time dating and getting to know one another. As would happen on the set of Happy Days, there was usually a declaration of some sort when one would ask another to go steady. ?For example, Richie would let MaryBeth wear his letterman?s sweater or Ralph Malph may ?pin? his girlfriend at the dance as a way to declare that he wanted to go steady.

Employment ?Offer/Acceptance:

An employment offer is akin to someone asking you to go steady. ?There has been a period of time getting to know each other (interviewing), there seems to be a certain level of connection between you and the employer, and now the employer is ready to take the relationship to the next level. ?By offering a job, the employer is asking one for a commitment of exclusivity ? that you will not continue to interview and secure other job offersduring this time. ?There are expectations that are assumed and spelled out (you will show up to work prepared and on time, you will communicate when you won?t be able to attend, the company will pay you $X dollars for said work, etc.) with an employment offer.

And just like a letterman?s sweater or pin when asking someone to go steady, there is a declaration of commitment in the employment sector in the form of the offer letter. ?In the offer letter, the commitment expectations are spelled out to the receiver (pay, start date, work schedule, job title, etc.) and the individual is expected to reply.

Once you receive the offer, one must decide if he/she is ready to make the commitment. ?While not a lifelong commitment, one should enter the process with a long term view of at least a year. ?While not all work relationships will last even this long, it is good to go into a situation thinking a minimum of 12 months so as to avoid making a commitment and continuing a job search at the same time.

At the end of 6 months, LDL cholesterol; 0. 57 ?0. 35mmol/L vs 0. 38 ?0. 23mmol/L treated vs control, p <0. 05. At the dynamics observation, 13C make LDL increase slowly. At the end of 6 months, the early characteristics of atherosclerosis werent present in the animals? vascular specimens. Estrogen increase the LDL acceptor of liver cell, increase its activity, accelerant liver cell to uptake and a-nalysis LDL in circulation and fall LDL concentration in circulation. Male mices estrogen deficiency, HDLC level falls, but LDLC leuel increase patently. Malaysia has a major presence in Burnout Dominator. Two levels from this game are supposedly based off Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. To those of you who do not know, the Burnout series features real- world locations from North America, Europe and the Far East. However, the producers do not take a straightforward approach to the locations. The levels are deliberately altered to enrich the Burnout experience. Likewise, the producers of Burnout Dominator did not simply refer to the two Malaysian levels as ? Kuala Lumpur ?, but rather ? Spiritual City ? instead. They didn?t just stop at the name though, there is a building called the ? Spiritual Towers ? which closely resembles the Petronas Twin Towers as well. Plus, KL Sentral has been renamed ST Sentral, Petaling Street has become Chinatown, and so on.

However, not everything here is vague and so- so; if one is really observant, it is possible to locate many Malaysian flags all over the 2 levels. Actual signboards from Kuala Lumpur are present too, how cool is that ? Furthermore, a handful of traffic cars share a resemblance to Malaysia?s real- world counterparts, such as the Perodua MyVi and Perodua Kenari. Other look- alikes include the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, the KL Tower, the Merdeka Parade, Bukit Bintang and the Federal Territory- Selangor gateway. You can see them quite clearly in the photos provided here.

However, not all of ? Spiritual City ? resembles Kuala Lumpur. There are tuk- tuks and Thai letters in the levels, both not found in real- world K.L. These were carried over from 2004?s Burnout 3, which featured levels in Thailand and Hong Kong. The taxis and buses don?t match either. Both levels are portrayed as ? distinctively Oriental ? for the international gaming audience. The game itself received great ratings overall. Having played it myself, I can safely say that Burnout Dominator didn?t triumph 2005?s Burnout Revenge or 2004?s Burnout 3. However, don?t get me wrong, Burnout Dominator is not a bad game, it?s still great fun. I just feel as though it could have been much, much better had the developers paid more attention and resources to it. Despite its shortcomings, any Malaysian who has been to or lives in Kuala Lumpur will instantly recognize the 2 levels from Burnout Dominator. This is the closest Kuala Lumpur has gone so far to being featured in a video game. Malaysians should be proud.

Colin McRae : DiRT 2 has Malaysia written all over it. It?is the highly anticipated sequel to 2007?s Colin McRae : DiRT. The Colin McRae series is all about rally racing the world over. DiRT 2 features locales such as Morocco, China, Croatia and surprisingly, Malaysia as well.?Unlike Burnout Dominator, several levels in the game are based on?real- world?Malaysia, or to be more specific, the jungles of Rawang, Selangor. No Petronas Twin Towers or K.L. here folks, just good ?ol Malaysian jungle. Having played DiRT 2 myself, I am quite simply impressed at the efforts of the producers, in the sense that they?ve managed to capture the essence of Malaysia so accurately. The palm trees, mud, weather, they?ve even got the kampungs right ! Unlike Burnout Dominator, Malaysia is presented as ? tropical eye- candy ? to the international gaming audience.

The secret ? DiRT 2 was partly made in Malaysia ! Codemasters Studios Sdn. Bhd., located in Kuala Lumpur and founded in 2006 contributed to the development of DiRT 2. How cool is that ??Codemasters Studios Sdn. Bhd. is the result of a partnership between Codemasters U.K. and Malaysia?s Vision New Media Sdn. Bhd.. The Malaysian branch is small, at only 100 or so staff members and is a predominantly 3D Modelling and art studio. According to Izmal, a Malaysian programmer from Codemasters Studios Sdn. Bhd., roughly half of the level environments in DiRT 2 were designed in Codemasters Studios Sdn. Bhd.. Too good to be true ? You can see the names of the Malaysians who helped make the game a success here. Codemasters Studios Sdn. Bhd. also contributed a little to the development of other Codemasters games such as GRID, DiRT 3, Bodycount, F1 2010, F1 2011 and Operation Flashpoint.

I cannot determine the exact number of DiRT 2 levels featured in Malaysia because one is able to play reverse, forward, long and short versions of each track. Furthermore, there are 5 modes of play; the traditional point- to- point Rally, the fast- paced ? Trailblazer ?, circuit- based Rallycross, ?? Land Rush ? and ? Raid ?. Each mode offers different cars and courses. Thus, many, many stage combinations are possible in DiRT 2.

DiRT 2, Welcome to the jungle (Malaysia)

DiRT 2 is a massive hit. The game has a Metacritic average of 89 for Microsoft Windows and 87 for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. However, the PlayStation Portable and Wii versions, developed by Sumo Digital scored low marks on the charts. Personally, I?d give DiRT 2 a well- deserved 8.5/10, if not more for creativity and efficient use of technology. Having been released on next- gen platforms, DiRT 2 sports some of the best graphics, sound and gameplay around. The game also features voice- acting from popular rally drivers such as?Ken Block, Travis Pastrana, Tanner Foust, Dave Mirra and?Mohammed ben Sulayem.

DiRT 2 is proof that Malaysia has what it takes to become an international player in the gaming industry. Malaysia stars in Hitman 2 : Silent Assassin. Hitman is all about creativity in the execution of missions. Players can either go in guns blazing, or take the longer way around by solving various puzzles instead.?3 highly- detailed missions out of 21 in the game are based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Unlike the two racing games above, Hitman is, depending on the player?s preference, a stealth based third- person or first- person shooter. All 3 levels are centred around the assassination of a plot character called Charlie Sidjan?in the Petronas Twin Towers. Agent 47, that is, the playable character in the game enters what appears to be the ground level of the KLCC in?? Basement Killing ?, the first of the three Malaysian levels. However, once the objectives are completed, Agent 47 discovers that the man he had assassinated was Charlie?s twin brother. In the second mission ? The Graveyard Shift ?, Agent 47 plants a hacking device somewhere in the Petronas Twin Towers to gain entry into Charlie?s real residence. The player will get the opportunity to cross the sky bridge from one tower to the other here. Later in the following mission, ? The Jacuzzi Job ?, Agent 47 locates and assassinates the real Charlie Sidjan, thus, completing his objective.

Hitman 2 Silent Assassin, Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Unfortunately, Hitman 2 doesn?t capture the essence of Malaysia in an accurate fashion. Much of the content has been stylized for dramatic purposes. The guards in the Malaysian levels speak Malay, but the average Malaysian would find Hitman 2?s presentation of the Malay language humorous; the accent and slang don?t really match- up with normal Malay speech. Manglish is also spoken in Hitman 2 by certain characters. All in all, Hitman 2 is still a brilliant game, thanks to excellent gameplay and graphics, which had set the standards in 2002. I haven?t personally played this game though, so I can?t comment much further.

F1 2011 is very similar to F1 2010, with several changes and improvements here and there. Most noticeably, this is the first Formula 1 game to grace 8th generation consoles, the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS. However, the producer behind the PS Vita and 3DS versions of F1 2011 was Sumo Digital, not Codemasters Birmingham, the folks behind the PS3, 360 and PC versions. Both 3DS and PS Vita versions got mixed reviews. The PS3, 360 and PC versions got almost identical reviews to that of F1 2010.

Malaysia becomes a battleground in SOCOM 4 : U.S. Navy SEALs. This PlayStation exclusive game is the latest in the long- running SOCOM series. The series is best- known for being a third- person shooter which places significant emphasis on military battle tactics. In SOCOM 4, players assume the roles of NATO soldier Cullen Gray in, you guessed it, Malaysia. Officially, the producers have not disclosed the exact location and simply just refer to it as ? Southeast Asia ?. However, most gamers and Malaysians alike will agree that the game in set in Malaysia. From what I?m aware of, locations include a war- torn Kuala Lumpur look- alike and dense tropical jungles. The bad guys in the game are called Naga. Interestingly, Naga translates into dragon in Malay. The Naga rebels have rallied against the country?s government by means of force and terrorism. Anyway, I don?t wanna spoil too much of the story, for those of you who intend to play this game on the PlayStation 3.

SOCOM 4 gameplay

Perhaps the most striking detail in SOCOM 4 is the inclusion of Malaysian look- alike taxis in the city- environments. Some of you may have already noticed them in the photo above. These taxis look very similar to the old Proton Saga taxis in use all over Malaysia today. However, the colours don?t match; most Malaysian taxis are red and white but the SOCOM 4 taxis are yellow. Furthermore, there is a building in the game which somewhat resembles the Petronas Twin Towers. That?s not all;?The Naga rebels speak Malay too. Unlike Hitman 2, the Malay voice- over is much more accurate and believable. Unfortunately, I have not played SOCOM 4 yet and as such, I cannot point out more details and points of interest in the game. All of these statements were drawn based on my observation of SOCOM 4 videos and in- game photos.

Sadly, SOCOM 4 doesn?t capture the soul of Malaysia accurately. Like Burnout Dominator, SOCOM 4 presents Malaysia as ? distinctively Oriental ? instead for the international audience. It is possible to find Chinese text in the levels, such as on the lanes of roads and signboards. This is not accurate of Malaysia because most of the road signboards are romanized.?Plus, the jungle- environments look distinctively Malaysian as well, but could also be mistaken for other jungles in South East Asia.

SOCOM 4 was moderately successful, scoring a 67% average on Metacritic, much less than its predecessors. Many SOCOM fans were disappointed with the game. However, if you?ve ever wondered what Malaysia would look like if civil war broke out, SOCOM 4 is your best bet. Of course, it?s only a video game, and despite the obvious references, I?m sure the developers had no such intention of smearing the good name of Malaysia in the eyes of the world. A video game is just a video game, creative art and entertainment for the masses.

2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa Video Game ? Playable Malaysian national football team (Harimau Malaya)

Harimau Malaya, the Malaysian national football team is playable in 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa ( video game ). Although Malaysia did not qualify for the real 2010 World Cup, gamers are given the opportunity to lead Harimau Malaya to a decisive victory in the game instead. This is as close as it gets to the real thing. The virtual Harimau Malaya resembles its real- life counterpart both in external appearance and player skill. The PS3 and 360 versions got high ratings, but the other platforms did not fair as well.

Malaysia becomes a playground in Just Cause 2. This game is the second in the well- received Just Cause series. The series is best known for being a third- person action shooter of epic proportions (For example; You fight enemies on flying missiles? like literally, on flying missiles !). The game takes place on the fictional island of Panau, supposedly located in the Malay Archipelago of South East Asia. Locations are extremely diverse considering that Panau is only an island; they range from deserts to snow capped mountains. Players are in control of Rico Rodriguez, who is tasked with the removal of Panau?s oppressive anti- US government and the assassination of a rouge agent. Players are allied with 3 factions in the game, the Roaches, Reapers and Ular Boys. Interestingly, Ular means snake in Malay and Indonesian. Just Cause 2 also involves real- world countries such as the U.S., Russia, China and Japan. Anyway, I don?t wanna spoil the whole plot for those of you who would like to give Just Cause 2 a try.

A lot of Malay words are found in Just Cause 2. For example, in the aerial map of Panau above, we can observe the Ramai Rakyat Islands, which literally translates into Many People Islands in Malay. Selatan Archipelago translates into Southern Archipelago, whereas Lautan Lama Desert literally translates into Old Sea Desert. Of course, many of these words could also be Indonesian, or Sanskrit or other Asian languages, we do not know for sure.?The NPCs in Just Cause 2 speak Malay and Malaysian- English too. Again, attribution to other languages are also possible, such as Singaporean- English and Indonesian. Some characters in the game have Malay (or Indonesian ?) names, such as Razak Razman. They even look distinctively Malaysian/ Indonesian.

Just Cause 2 makes many references to real- world Malaysia, such as in- game voice over language, names of locations, names of characters and so on. However, on a whole, Just Cause 2 probably intended to parody the entire South East Asia for the international audience. In some sense, the position of Just Cause 2 is very similar to that of SOCOM 4 : U.S. Navy SEALs. One could confuse Just Cause 2 for being set in other South East Asian countries, such as Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. Likewise, it would not be fair to claim that Just Cause 2 is solely set in Malaysia.

Just Cause 2 was met with critical reception both in sales and reviews. The game has an average Metacritic score of 84/100, 83/100 and 81/100 for the PC, PS3 and 360 respectively, much higher than that of its predecessor. Just Cause 2 is the game for you if you?ve always wanted to go on an action- packed adventure set in familiar ground. Like SOCOM 4, I?m sure the developers probably had no such intention of smearing the good name of Malaysia and other South East Asian countries in the eyes of the world.

TOCA Race Driver ? Features the Proton Satria GTi

TOCA Race Driver is the only known legitimate video game to feature a Malaysian made car. The car in question is the legendary Proton Satria GTi. In TOCA Race Driver, players get to race the Satria GTi against other cars from the likes of Subaru, Mitsubishi and many more.

The graphics may not be much compared to today?s standards, after all it is 10 years old now. Still, it?s nice to see that the developer, none other than Codemasters themselves, acknowledge the potential of the Satria GTi.

Conclusion

As a predominantly unknown and new country, the inclusion of anything related to Malaysia in video games is extremely rare. Hence, whenever a game like DiRT 2 or Just Cause 2 comes along, you can be sure that they provoke excitement, curiosity and pride in Malaysian gamers and non- gamers alike.

While it is great that Malaysia has a significant presence in the video game industry today, it doesn?t exactly prove anything since the majority of these games are not Malaysian made. Thus, the only good thing Malaysia gets in return is an increase in awareness among gamers. In other words, it is merely a social significance. However, as in the case of Codemasters Studios Sdn. Bhd., it has escalated to the point of economic significance. By creating successful video games locally and selling them overseas, wealth from foreign markets pours into the Malaysian economy, boosting the Gross Domestic Product and general wealth of Malaysia and her citizens. Furthermore, Malaysia has gained international recognition for successful video games produced on our soil. These range from awards, such as from the BAFTA of United Kingdom ( DiRT 2 is one such partly- made in Malaysia game to receive a BAFTA award ) to the general respect of gamers from around the world.

Codemasters Studios Sdn. Bhd. is the only major video game producer in Malaysia with international recognition. Unfortunately, most Malaysians buy pirated games instead of originals. This could spell the end of Codemasters Studios Sdn. Bhd. and our video game industry altogether. Malaysians should show their support by buying original goods from Codemasters, for a start.?It would be a shame to see Codemasters? efforts go to waste because of piracy. Think about it.
